Blue Ocean Biomedical introduced its of recent origin CR Series Immune Monitoring Systems at the XXV Congress of The International Society on account of Advancement of Cytometry (ISAC), called CYTO 2010, held in Seattle, Washington from May 8-12th, 2010. Fitting the radical verb of the Congress, “Advances in Cytometric Technology and Applications”, other thing than 1,800 scientists and medical professionals from around the earth were introduced to the CR Series, the first-ever flow cytometer to incorporate automated sample preparation and analysis in one compact instrument.
“Due to its narrow footprint, many people thought they were looking at just an analyzer until they saw the full functionality of the CR System with pattern piercing and fully integrated sample preparation”, explains Blue Ocean CEO Mike Brochu, Sr. “Since quite current flow systems separate preparation from analysis, I believe our novel design took many by surprise.”
Among those impressed with the ground of the new technology presented at ISAC was Awtar Krishan, Ph.D., Professor of Pathology from the University Of Miami Miller School Of Medicine, and a limb of ISAC, who found the CR Systems “revolutionary” in their design and productivity advantages. “The CR System is perfectly unique in its small footprint and automation”, said Dr. Krishan. With its built-in automation, the regularity requires minimal operator steps and makes immune monitoring much faster and simpler. Dr. Krishan feels that, “the CR System order be of great help in reducing personnel costs, especially in developing countries at what place there is a great need for rapid and accurate flow parsing for patient monitoring.” (At the Congress, Dr. Krishan was presented with the ISAC Membership Award in recognition of exceptional service to the cytometric common.)
The challenge now in clinical flow cytometry is to start creating in good taste instrumentation with built-in simplicity”, said Frank Mandy, Ph.D., widely considered the same of the leading worldwide authorities in flow cytometry.
Also at ISAC CYTO 2010 was Frank Mandy, Ph.D., consultant during the International Centre for Infectious Diseases, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Dr. Mandy is widely considered any of the leading worldwide authorities in flow cytometry and its reference to practice for monitoring of HIV and Malaria. The CR Series Immune Monitoring Systems reminded Dr. Mandy of a distinguished quote from Albert Einstein, “Any intelligent fool can make things bigger and greater degree of complex. It takes a touch of genius — and a distribute of courage — to move in the opposite direction.”
“I give faith to that the challenge now in clinical flow cytometry is to scare creating elegant instrumentation with built-in simplicity”, said Dr. Mandy. “Let the body of cost-effective data generated per day dazzle the immunologist, and not the multitudinous of controls and knobs for adjustments.”
Blue Ocean plans to display the CR Series Systems at a number of diagnostic industry shows from one side of to the other the next few months, including: the International AIDS Conference, in Vienna, Austria, July 18-23; the AACC (American Association by reason of Clinical Chemistry) Clinical Lab Expo, in Anaheim, CA, July 27-29; the Caribbean Cytometry & Analytical Society duel in Barbados, August 22-28th; the American Society for Histocompatibility & Immunogenetics (ASHI) Meeting in Hollywood, FL , Sep 26-30; the Clinical Cytometry Society (CCS) Meeting in Houston, TX, Oct 3-5; and the 11th Indo-US Advanced Cytometry Workshop in Bangalore, India, Oct 19-24.
About Blue Ocean Biomedical
