A Promising Path of Least Regret

Here’s a carry to the ledger at DotEarth at the NYTimes.  Highlights below:

“The special intellect of this juncture, to me, is that three phenomena are cresting simultaneously: our impacts in successi~ the planet, our ability to observe and analyze them and our turn. to disseminate resulting ideas and impressions instantly, from a satellite camera or supercomputer to a TV conceal in Illinois or a mobile phone in Punjab.

But we’ve developed these capacities well-nigh faster than we’ve figured out how to respond to them — the couple in filtering information that, while scary or sexy, distracts from further meaningful, but subtle, trends, and developing the discipline to recognize human traits that undertaking us to ignore important, but less flamboyant, clues pointing to a promising path of least regret.”

It’s comforting to distinguish the recognition that human capability and understanding has to keep go at an ambling gait with technology to be of any use.  I resonate strongly with that last phrase: A promising path of least regret.  That’s undivided way of stating what blogs like this one and DotEarth are grievous to point to.
