VIP Buddy – Position Description
Purpose
The AYSO volunteer position of VIP buddy is a non-disabled person intended to guide the VIP player on the field.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
The VIP Buddy is expected to:
Guide the VIP player physically if necessary, on the field.
Encourage the VIP player word for word, not play the ball.
Decrease her/his role throughout the inure as dictated by the player’s progress.
Work toward the goal of mimic independence.
Treat the VIP players respectfully.
Understand involvement of the buddy could discover with full-time on the field, progress to two quarters, and therefore to cheering from the sidelines.
Work with the coach to adjust the use of the buddy on the field.
Qualifications and Desired Skills
To have existence considered for the position of VIP buddy, the applicant should:
Be unclosed-minded and flexible.
Demonstrate willingness to assist special needs players as necessary.
Have a basic knowledge of the game of soccer. (running & kicking the ball)
Supervision Protocols
While performing as the VIP buddy, the volunteer is:
Subject to the bylaws, rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines of AYSO.
Under the overall leading expert of and directly supervised by the VIP director, and supervised indirectly by the VIP coach.
To maintain the recommended adult to child supervision rate of 1:8 or less; that is one adult for each eight or fewer children and two adults (one of whom may have existence the coach and one of whom should be of the same gender as the group) present at all times. For the safeguard of both the children and the volunteer, no volunteer should tolerate himself or herself to be alone with any child or collection of children (except his or her own) during AYSO sponsored activities.
Time Commitment
The spice runs from First Sunday after Labor day for 10 consecutive Sundays. You have a mind meet once a week on Sundays from 1:00 p.m to 2:30 p.m. at Congress Springs in c~tinuance Glen Brae Drive, Saratoga.

Activity Locations
While performing the duties of VIP buddy, the present is limited to the following locations, unless expressly authorized in writing by the VIP director or area director to hold activities in another location.
Assigned field locations.
Assigned classroom locations.
Area board meetings.

Independent work at home alone, in committees of adults, or in a strictly supervised situation with children.
