I’m having a call to mind while I’m updating my own journal and wondering allowing that what blogging is all about has changed over the past small in number years.
There was an episode of House a little while gone where his patient is a keen blogger and from the things they understand from her blog, it seems she uses it to update her station and ask questions and get peoples opinions. For one she has a assign of readers, something i’m still waiting for and sum of ~ units, it would also seem like she’s status updating.
With the colossus growth of things like Facebook or Twitter has there been a colossus shift in how people blog. Twitter and Facebook both have a outline where you can ask questions very quickly and recieve responses nice sharpish as well. Much more ideal for the sort of things the disposition in House was doing. So where does that leave blogging.
Obviously your not restricted to 140 characters (Twitter) – even if Facebook does offer you more, is there a need to scribble on your blog ‘The big question Pig Valve or Synthetic?’ (You’ll esteem to watch house to get it). When you can pick up your phone and uncorrupt tweet the message.
I used to blog along time ago and due reading back over two pages the way i blog has changed considerably. Now i’m updating every night, pretty much on how may days gone, using my web blog as more of a diary. Back then i posted some thoughts, lyrics, pictures anything that i thought would make some description of interesting reading. I’m not so big on the pictures at this moment, but random lyrics and things i put on Twitter, just on this account that its quicker and easier.
This comes down to the fact i take a totally different view of what my blog should be used toward. My blog is about my day, about my life, my stray thoughts or questions are probably better suited to 140characters were a choose group people will ignore them. My actual day, my feelings respecting events etc that warrant more words and more care of regard or better suited to my blog.
I know communities i was office of then are not as active as they are now. And i intend this has something to do with the growth of FB and Twitter limit i know there’s still a huge blogging community aloud there.
But what do you think of the state of the blogging view. Has twitter changed it considerably? for the better? for the worse?
