New Unique Social Media Website Focuses On Sports Trash Talk…





The launch of Rivalry Rage brings a unique social networking outlet to the World Wide Web – Sports Trash Talk. The Rivalry Rage team determined there was a niche opportunity in the social media world to create a site specifically for sports fans and provide them with an interactive location to talk trash. Unlike other social networking sites, Rivalry Rage strictly focuses on sports fans around the world. “My goal was to create a social website focused solely on sports. Passionate sports fans love talking trash in support of their favorite team or in defense of their team against rivals,” said Tim Jones, Founder and CEO of Rivalry Rage, Inc. “I think there’s a smack talker in all of us and at one time or another, we’ve all engaged in some trash talk. Personally, I don’t care if someone lists their status on another social site as ‘doing laundry’ or ‘heading to the grocery store,’ but talk a little sports smack and I’m interested!”

Rivalry Rage has a global plan. All major U.S. sports leagues are on the site, as well as most Soccer/Futbol leagues in Europe, South America, Central America, and Asia. When asked what expertise the Rivalry Rage team has that ensures success in the social media arena, Jones replied, “The number one skill set we have that will make Rivalry Rage successful is our passion for sports, whether participating or watching. But, it also takes a certain level of business know-how to succeed in any endeavor.” With years of business experience in the Defense Industry; over 20 years of active service in the United States Navy; and as the founders of a growing Engineering Company, ISSAC Corp, the Rivalry Rage team is working hard to apply the knowledge and experience they’ve gained to make Rivalry Rage successful. Rivalry Rage publishes weekly news reports, creates weekly videos of upcoming key match ups , narrated by either ‘The Smack Pack’ or ‘Dr. Smack’ (the primary faces and voices of Rivalry Rage), and provides a venue for sports fans to upload pictures and videos and interact with one another in this new trash talking community. Jones stated, “We are making this a content rich environment. We have created a few fun definitions for the Science of Smackology, and we are starting to run contests for merchandise and sporting event tickets.” Jones also noted, “We’re excited about seeing more sports fan-generated content and interaction as we continue to grow.” The site design enables high interactivity, including a Friend Feed page, the ability to comment or vote on photos and pictures, the ability to post comments directly on sports team pages, and the ability to coordinate a chat room with other trash talk fans.

In addition to creating Rivalry Rage, Jones has created a blog, ‘Rivalry Rage – The Journey’, where he provides information about the steps the team takes to make this venture a success. Jones’ blog documents the journey for historical value and as a way to allow other entrepreneurs to learn lessons from his efforts – both good and bad. Rivalry Rage is a well designed, one-of-a-kind website that makes a great outlet for sports fans and trash talkers alike.
